SAP HCM – in future: SAP Human Capital Management for S/4HANA (SAP HCM H4S4)
With the migration to SAP HCM for S/4HANA (H4S4), the familiar SAP HCM modules will continue to be available. Exceptions are applications that have not been developed further for some time, such as: Recruiting (PA-RC), the old Seminar Management (PE) from Talent Management, Manager’s Desktop (PA-MA) in Personnel Administration, the Cost Planning module (PA-CM-CP), and several others. The JAVA-based Learning Module will also no longer be available under H4S4. Instead, H4S4 places greater emphasis on Fiori apps. For users, the switch to SAP HCM H4S4 will have little impact.Successful User Experience with Fiori Apps
Fiori apps are becoming increasingly important in SAP H4S4 and SuccessFactors. When used in combination with the Fiori Launchpad, the mobile Fiori apps offer an optimal user experience. Although SAP provides an extensive library of ready-to-use Fiori apps, custom applications often prove to be the most effective solution. For the development of new SAP Fiori apps, we primarily rely on SAP UI5.
Into the Cloud with SAP SuccessFactors
With a greater focus on the user experience, HCM becomes HXM with SAP SuccessFactors. Whether initially hybrid or fully cloud-based from the start, this solution will become attractive for most companies in the coming years.
The key difference between SAP HCM and SuccessFactors lies in the shift in perspective – from the administrative focus of HCM to the user experience focus of SuccessFactors. In addition, the aim is to simplify and optimise HCM. All modules familiar from SAP HCM, as well as interesting enhancements through partner apps, will be available here in the future. Currently, payroll and time management are still missing, but both are expected to be added soon.
